Founded in 2018, Ujana Afrika emerged from a recognized need to bridge the gap between traditional education and market-ready technical skills. We've grown from a small advocacy group to a leading youth-serving organization, impacting thousands of young lives across Kenya.
The SDG Hero program is a groundbreaking partnership between Ujana Afrika and the Boke Foundation started in September 2025. This initiative harnesses the innovative power of play to tackle real-world challenges. We train passionate young Kenyan students to use the Boke Foundation's specialized game toolkits-interactive, experience-based learning tools designed to make the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) understandable and actionable.

Our TVET Advocacy Program is the engine of systemic change. While we train youth with skills, we simultaneously work to ensure the ecosystem around them is supportive and thriving. This program targets the root causes of skills gaps and youth unemployment by engaging policymakers, industry leaders, and the public.

The Ujana Training Program is where potential meets practice. This is our comprehensive suite of industry-aligned courses delivered through our state-of-the-art training centers. We go beyond theory, providing immersive, hands-on experience in the most demanded fields, including Digital Skills (software development, digital marketing), Technical Vocations (electrical, solar installation, manufacturing), and Entrepreneurship.
Post-training assessments show a 92% average competency rate in core technical skills among graduates.
Training is just the first step. The Ujana Mentorship & Scholarship Program ensures that no talented youth is left behind due to financial constraints and that every graduate has the guidance to navigate their career journey. This program provides two critical pillars of support: comprehensive scholarships to cover training costs for deserving students, and a structured mentorship ecosystem that pairs them with experienced professionals from our network.
